Ragdoll cats are large, semi-longhaired cats that are renowned for their, silky coat, sweet face and piercing blue eyes. They love to be cuddled and are much more open to human affection than most other breeds of cat.

Average Life Span: 12-17 years

Coat Colours: Seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red, cream,

Weight: a weight range of 15 to 20 pounds.

Ragdolls got their name because they like to go completely limp when handled. Rather than being a result of their unique body structure, many believe their floppiness reflects a complete relaxation and trust in people when being held. Raggies, as they are affectionately known, love to be around people. The more attention you pay them, the more they love you back. They really do enjoy nothing more than cuddling up to their owners and being patted. Ragdoll cats come in a variety of patterns and colours. Patterns include colourpoint, mitted, bicolour, lynx and tortie; colours include seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream. They are also one of the slowest maturing breeds, only reaching full size when four-years-old. In the main, Ragdolls are not the most streetwise cats. While its best to keep indoors if possible, their social nature means they don’t like to be left alone for hours at a time. However, Raggies mix well with other cats, animals and children, making them an excellent household pet.
